Sophomore Tylar Missbach died in a car accident on KY-1295 in Gerrard County on Oct. 24.

According to WKYT, Kentucky State Police said the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided on KY-1295.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Missbach, 20, was an exercise science major, a Residence Life Community Mentor, a Peer Educator in the Counseling Center and a member of the Galileo Learning Community.

Friends gathered in the Anniversary Hall Sacred Room Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. and then gathered in her memory for Mass in Our Lady of the Woods Chapel at 6 p.m.  A prayer service was held immediately after Mass, and students shared memories of the Danville, Kentucky, native.

“We deeply mourn the loss of this bright young heart, and our own hearts go out to her family and friends in love and support,” Bellarmine University President Dr. Joseph McGowen said in an email to students and faculty.
