Valentine’s Day is upon us and everyone is feeling the love, including Bellarmine.

The day of love falls on a fun week for Bellarmine: Homecoming Week. Consistent with Bellarmine’s love of knight-related puns, the theme of homecoming week is “A Knight of Chance.”

On Feb. 14, the Student Activities Council will host Late Knight Bingo in Frazier Hall. Nothing quite says “I love you” like letting your significant other claim your winning bingo sheet.

For those who are single, maybe this “knight of chance” will result in you having a date for homecoming on Feb. 17.

Bingo will start at 8 p.m.,  but by the time they have to pull out more chairs and tables it will probably be around 8:45. Keeping with the overall theme of homecoming, all of the prizes will have to do with James Bond and Casino Royale, but a few will be Valentine’s Day-themed as well.  The prizes include James Bond-themed Monopoly, candy collections and poker sets, just to name a few.

According to Bryan Hamann, assistant director of student activities, one lucky winner will get tickets to an IMAX movie and dinner. “Kind of a couple’s package,” Hamman said.

Is bingo not your thing? Then you might want to help wrangle children instead. The Guatemala trip is having a fundraiser called  “Parent’s Knight Out” on Feb. 11 and Feb. 14 in Hilary’s from 6–11 p.m.

“It is a fundraiser for babysitting kids so parents can go out for Valentine’s Day,” said Camber Sollberger, a student going on the Guatemala trip. For $10 an hour and $5 for each additional kid, this event gives parents a chance to spend time alone together without worrying about a babysitter.

If you are looking for a creative way to tell someone you like them, the Black Student Union might be able to help you through their fundraiser, “A Crush for Your Crush.”

Starting on Feb. 6 and throughout the week, BSU will be selling cans of Crush soda outside of UDH and in Centro for $1.50 each.

This fundraiser gives students a chance to send someone on campus a can of Crush soda, to be delivered to them on Valentine’s Day. Even if you don’t have a crush, this is a fun way to let someone know you care about them.

Whether you are still single or crazy in love, there are many events on campus that will get you in the Valentine’s Day spirit.
