Labor Day weekend will be full of activities, on and off campus, for members of the Bellarmine community to enjoy.

Those who are not going home for the long weekend will have plenty to do this Labor Day. According to the Bellarmine Engage website, multiple activities will be available to students. A welcome back event will happen in the SuRF 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, and there will be a movie night featuring “Monster’s University” in the Quad 8 p.m. Friday.

Anyone wanting to attend Mass will still be able to worship. Keighlee Arp of Campus Ministry said Mass will be at 6 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel.

For those with transportation to get off campus, two free events will occur in the area. According to the Worldfest website, the festival will happen on the Belvedere at 500 W. Main St. It is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday to Sunday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.

Lauren Deines is in her third year at Bellarmine and plans to go to Worldfest with friends.

“The best part of Worldfest is the food. It gives me the chance to taste foods I never would have had the opportunity to try anywhere else,” she said.

For those with extra spending money, there are multiple events to attend. According to the Rock the Water Tower website, the live concert event will be Sunday from 2 p.m. 11 p.m. at the Water Tower Park. Admission is $10.

The Kentucky Flea Market will be in the Kentucky Exposition Center. The flea market will be Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, according to the center’s website.
